Nioun Rec by Amala Dianor Company is a captivating film blending urban, contemporary and African dance styles amidst a striking architectural setting. Part of Dianor’s Ciné-Danse series, this film was created in 2021 and marked the start of a creative partnership with visual artist Grégoire Korganow.

Transposing his earlier solo Man Rec (‘Only me’ in Niger-Congo language Wolof) into Nioun Rec (‘Only us’), Dianor invited dancer Nangaline Gomis to perform a duet that explores connection, identity and shared movement. The choreography fuses fluid physicality with cinematic artistry, creating an intimate and visually compelling experience.

Filmed in the iconic Villa Savoye – famous architect Le Corbusier’s modernist masterpiece just outside Paris, Nioun Rec brings dance into dialogue with architecture and film in a powerful expression of collaboration and artistic evolution.
