Shape the Future of Dance with Us

At Dance Umbrella, we’re passionate about investing in artists and dance. We support groundbreaking artists from across the globe to showcase their work at our annual festival and reach new audiences. As we prepare for our 47th Festival this October, we need your help to continue this vital work.

Our Work Matters

Alongside presenting artists at our Festival, we are also working hard to transform the dance sector. This includes widening the conversation around not just who’s on stage, but who decides what we see on it. We actively programme work from a multiplicity of voices and lived experiences, and work with curators from across the world to bring fresh perspectives to London audiences.

Last year’s festival premiered 10 new shows, including HATCHED ENSEMBLE by Mamela Nyamza…

“Dance Umbrella has always offered artists the chance to be creative… It has indeed added credibility to many artists, added value to many careers and has provided a solid foundation on which to build future artistic responsibilities for human co-existence.”

…and Radioactive Practice by Abby Zbikowski which The Guardian named as their #1 dance show of the year.

“As an artist, [it's really important] to feel supported in your risk-taking at a time where everything feels risky because finances are so anxiety inducing. It makes independent, avantgarde artists that aren't widely understood, feel like they matter and [that] their work matters.”

We Need Your Help

It is no secret that arts organisations are facing a critical challenge when it comes to funding. With increased economic pressures and reduced availability of financial support, we need your help to ensure the future of dance and keep it accessible for everyone. With your donation, we can continue to bring world-class artists to the UK, support the sector to innovate and commission artists for the benefit of future audiences.

This year, your donation will support two new Dance Umbrella commissions and the UK premieres of seven live dance shows.

Stand with us so we can continue to invest in the next generation of artists.

Dance Umbrella Festival 2025 takes place across London and Online between 2 – 31 October and puts emerging and diverse talent at its heart, reflecting the global identity of London.
