Dance Umbrella and Somerset House present the award-winning hit of Dance Umbrella 2014 at Somerset House’s ice rink for a limited run in January 2016.

Iconoclastic and charming ice-skaters Le Patin Libre hail from Montréal, Canada. A five-strong collective of prize-winning skaters, they are creating a new kind of ice dancing. The collective’s 2014 Dance Umbrella commission Vertical Influences, first performed at Alexandra Palace, recently travelled to Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it won the inaugural Total Theatre and The Place Award for Dance.

If you saw them last time you’ll know just how fantastic they are, and if you didn’t – don’t miss them again!

Vertical is the second half of the show performed in Dance Umbrella 2014, and the running time is 35 minutes. Please note this is an outdoor performance – so dress warm.

Vertical Influences Commissioned by Dance Umbrella, National Arts Centre, Canada and Theatre de la Ville, Paris

Supported by Canada Council for the Arts, Conseil des Arts de Montréal, Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Quebec and Québec Government Office, London
