Get Creative is a major celebration of the nation’s arts, culture and creativity. Led by BBC ARTS and What Next? in collaboration with a huge range of arts, cultural and voluntary organisations, everyone is invited to get involved and share their creative talents.
We are proud to be a BBC Get Creative Champion. For more information on the year long celebration of arts, culture and creativity visit the BBC Arts website here.
As part of the initiative, Dance Umbrella joined forces with a number of other London arts festivals to present a live web discussion on festivals and their place in a city’s creativity. The discussion took place via Google Hangouts, on Wednesday 25th February 2015.
Guest speakers included our very own Artistic Director and Chief Executive, Emma Gladstone, musician Soweto Kinch (Mercury prize nominated composer and founder of the Birmingham based Flyover Show), David Binder (Artistic Associate, LIFT) and John Cumming OBE (Director, Serious). The discussion will be chaired by Beki Bateson, Executive Director, LIFT.
A recording of the Google Hangout is now available via YouTube and also on the video below. You can also view audience observations and suggested questions via Twitter by searching for the hastag #festivalslondon.
Presented by Dance Umbrella, Serious, LIFT, Spitalfields Music and Greenwich & Docklands Festival.
